Outfit #6: Flippin' Your Fins

Since my sewing machine decided to start working again, and I also happened to have just received my new mermaid fin in the mail, I figured a mermaid tail for Tanner would be an interesting outfit.

The tail is pink satin, while the fin is made from felt. I ran a line of thread along the edge of the fin to make it curl a bit more realistically.

The pearl necklace is handmade.

The seashell bra is made of real seashells, adjusted with tiny bits of duct tape.

Towards the top of the fin, I strung on a few pink beads for decoration and to cover up some stitches.

Outfit #5: Forest Hopper

The dress Tanner is wearing has been reused from my second post (minus the tutu part).

She is barefoot because I still haven't been able to buy any new shoes, and anyway shoes would not fit this type of outfit.

The wreath is handmade from florist wire and artificial leaves.

Outfit #4: That's Dank

First off: no, I'm not a stoner. But I did catch "Shit Stoner Girls Say" on Youtube (click here for the video) and it gave me a little inspiration. In accordance with my libertarian views in that I believe that marijuana should be legal (even though I personally don't smoke it; but what you do is not my business as long as you don't hurt anyone else), I thought this would be an outrageous and cute outfit for Tanner.

Everything except the boots are hand-sewn.

The little beanie was made from an old capelet, and the leaf patch is green felt that has been glued on.

The vest was hand-sewn and glued together in some areas. The peace sign decal on the shirt was hand-drawn. Tanner's bracelet was also carefully crafted by hand.

The pants turned out to be very tight so I literally had to "sew" her into them; the only way to get them off will be to cut some of the stitches, but she will have this outfit on for a while so no worries.
If you guys like this outfit, comment below. Maybe even throw in a few suggestions. (Like, should I make her a giant joint to ride on รก la the "Cheech And Chong" parody from SNL?)

Outfit #3: A Punk Prayer

This outfit is heavily inspired by the Russian feminist band Pussy Riot. As you can see, Tanner is wearing a grey balaclava, bearing the symbol of feminist ideology. The balaclava was fashioned from an old sock. The dress is intentionally ugly and badly stitched, to reflect opposition to traditional feminine beauty standards.

The chains are representative of members of the band being imprisoned.

The balaclava features holes to accomodate Tanner's mouth and eyes.

Listen to "Putin Lights Up The Fires" by Pussy Riot and read the lyrics here: http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2012/aug/20/pussy-riot-new-single-lyrics

Outfit #2: Cotton Candy Rhinestone Dreams

In this outfit, Tanner has kept her giraffe boots (they are the only shoes I have at the moment).

The outer dress was taken from a porcelain doll and trimmed.

On her head, Tanner is wearing a vintage rhinestone bracelet.

The skirt underneath is hand-sewn and is made of lace. On her waist, Tanner wears a vintage friendship bracelet.
