Outfit #9: Mod Exhibition

For this outfit, I was inspired by an outfit worn by Alfred Jarry to the opera in Paris, one that consisted of mainly art supplies (such as canvas), and a self-inked tie. Tanner's jumpsuit is made of a cotton blend, and is a singular piece.

Her hair was swept up in a messy bun and secured with a plastic coiled bracelet that I snagged from Ocean City.

Her bracelet is a handmade piece for which I cannot recall its origin exactly. Her bowtie is actually an antique brooch, and holds the jumpsuit closed.

As always, her boots are yellow giraffe, to add a pop of color.

Outfit #8: Grand Entrance

For this outfit, I decided to go in a different direction. I took a long piece of pink tulle and wrapped it around Tanner in a way that suggested a long and elegant dress.

The piece itself was irregularly shaped, but I twisted it in such a way that this fact was hidden.

The train was about 10 inches in length, approximately.

On her head, Tanner wears a crystal comb tiara that I've had in my possession for a few years.

Outfit #7: Burning Man

With the dates for Burning Man approaching (and my jealousy growing), I decided to take inspiration from the Black Rock Desert festival. Burning Man is a festival that takes place every August in the middle of the desert in the Black Rock Desert, Nevada. In keeping with the spirit of the festival, everything about Tanner's outfit is handmade.

The "monocle" goggle is made from a recycled soda tab and salvaged felt. For the fastener on her hood, I used a glass bead that is several years old and has been in my desk for a long time.

Tanner's hood and briefs are sewn from an old recycled tye-dye shirt.

Her bracelet is made from plastic crystal beads and are representative of the spiritual nature of the festival.

Didn't have the time or patience to make a "mutant vehicle" (though that would've been cool), but that's for next time, I guess….. ;)
